Business owners desire to expand their current businesses, in terms of opening up more branches to increase sales and grow revenue. However scaling or expansion comes with attendant cost. Scaling or taking your business to the next level if done correctly and at the right time can be really rewarding and if done wrongly and at the wrong time can affect the bottom line of your current business operations.
Most business owners attempt to scale prematurely and they incur cost that hurts the business badly creating set backs, loss of revenue, effort and time. This is considered an avoidable waste. Secondly, scaling can be too late too, this can also hurt in the same way as premature scaling. WHEN then is the right time to expand your business operations? The answer here is pretty simple, when it hurts badly (in a good way), when your customer and business operation outgrows the available facility or resources to handle them. The numbers says it all.
